Cute Ways to Spoil Your Cat

September 15, 2018

Do you find a pile of cat toys every time you move your sofa? Kitties certainly do have a way of wrapping their humans around their paws, and getting us to pamper them. However, while Fluffy will certainly enjoy catnip mice and kitty treats, there are several other ways to get her little motor going. Read on as a Newburgh, NY vet lists some cute ways to pamper your cat.

Beds

Sleeping is indisputably Fluffy’s favorite pastime. Many kitties like to rotate from spot to spot for their naps. Provide your drowsy pet with lots of comfy beds. They don’t have to be fancy: even a soft blanket folded up and placed on an armchair or ottoman will do.

Window Seat

Your pampered pet may not have the slightest idea of how to actually catch a bird, or what to do with one if she did, but she’ll still enjoy birdwatching. Offer Fluffy a comfy window seat with a good view. Put a birdfeeder up in her line of sight to make it even more fun for her.

Playtime

Did you know that playing is very beneficial for cats? Pouncing and jumping help keep kitties in shape physically. Playing also provides Fluffy with mental stimulation. Take time to play with your cat regularly.

Brushing

Fluffy may carefully groom herself every day to keep her fur clean. That doesn’t mean she can’t use a helping hand, however. Brush your pet regularly. This will remove dead fur and dander from her coat. Plus, it’s a great way to spend time with your feline friend!

Apps

Did you know that you can download apps for Fluffy to play on your phone or tablet? Your kitty may enjoy ‘catching’ digital mice or fish. (Then again, she may just yawn and start licking her paws. With cats, you never know.)

DVDs

If you really want to go all-out, get your feline friend some DVDs made just for cats. Some kitties really like watching documentaries about birds and squirrels!

Plants

Cats are much safer staying indoors, but there’s no reason Fluffy can’t enjoy a little taste of nature. Set out some pet-safe plants for her to nibble on. You can find a list of nontoxic plants at the ASPCA website here.
