We would like to update you on evolving hospital policies. Due to concern regarding COVID-19, we have implemented “Concierge Service”. We ask you to call our office on arrival for an exam and a staff member will obtain history by phone. A staff member will personally escort your pet in to be examined by the doctor. While your pet is with us we ask that you remain in your car. The veterinarian will consult with you by phone regarding the treatment plan and a staff member will escort your pet outside. Payment will be made over the phone. If you are picking up medications or food, call on arrival and we will bring it to you.

We love our clients, however we are not allowing clients inside for the safety of both clients and our employees. We would like to reiterate that we are open and will continue providing the best medical care to your pet. We appreciate your understanding and trust in us to continue caring for your fur children. Please call our office with any questions or concerns!’

COVID-19 Update

March 16, 2020

Dear Valued Client:

We understand the concerns and questions that the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has brought to the area and felt it was important to connect with you, our loyal clients, to share information that can help put your mind at ease, and assure you we are staying on top of the emerging information as it becomes available.

While we are still learning much in regards to the virus, we are confident that human to pet or pet to human transmission of COVID-19 is not likely. Meaning, should there be exposure to COVID-19, it is not possible for you to catch coronavirus from your pet or for your pet to transmit the virus to you.

As a matter of good health, we do urge you to follow recommended sanitation and hygiene any time you interact with a pet. We urge you to keep up to date on the facts from validated resources, such as the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), in regards to your pets and the virus; And of course continuing to monitor information from the CDC, WHO and other public health agencies.

Other important points we’d like to share regarding visiting our office:

  • Our office hours will remain the same: M-F 8:30am-6pm and Saturday 9am-1pm. At this time we ask that you call to schedule an appointment and refrain from walk-in appointments.
  • In an attempt to limit client interaction in our lobby we will be employing concierge service. This means we are asking that you call from the car when you arrive to check in for your appointment. You will wait in the car during the exam.
  • The disinfectants we use year-round are effective against Coronavirus. As a healthcare practice, we have routine processes in place to stop disease transmission in pets.
  • We have increased the frequency of disinfecting client touchpoints (i.e. bathrooms, doorknobs, etc.) Because everyone can benefit from additional training, all staff has had a thorough review of disinfection and handwashing processes.
  • Our dedicated staff has been advised to remain at home if they are running a fever or if a family member is suspected of having COVID-19. We also ask our clients to consider rescheduling or having a friend/family member bring their pet in if they are feeling ill.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call our office at 845-284-9541 to discuss the current situation further. We will be keeping you up to date as we learn more and gather more information.

DAYCARE PARENTS:

  • DROP OFF WILL CURRENTLY BE HELD VIA CONCIERGE SERVICE.
    • There is a ‘no parking stop’ between Amy’s grooming and the yellow house closer to the daycare, we ask that you pull into that spot and wait until we come and get your pet from the car.
  • PICK UP FOR YOUR PET WILL BE DONE VIA PHONE.
    • Please give the hospital a call when you arrive so that we can bring your dog to your car for you.

Thank you for your attention and consideration in this matter. We hope you and your family stay healthy during this time. As always, remember to wash your hands!

Best Wishes,
The Staff at Stone Cottage Veterinary Hospital
